Where is God calling you?

The FISH House Ministry provides education, spiritual formation, and intentional community for young adults as they discern God’s call in their lives.

Fellows live in the church’s parsonage and explore ministry as a vocation through practical education, service, and mentorship.

Community

FISH House Fellows live together in intentional Christian community in the church’s parsonage (the FISH House) and participate in the life of the congregation to grow in faith and prepare for Christian ministry. Fellows share common spaces but each have their own private bedroom with simple furnishings.

Practical Education

Fellows receive hands-on, practical education in ministry, learning about and assisting with pastoral care, worship leadership, children and youth ministry, finances and administration, property management, and community outreach for 4 hours each week. Fellows are paired with mentors in the congregation based on their interests, meet regularly with the pastors, and gather weekly for a community meal at Friends Kitchen.

Growing in Faith

Fellows may attend “Growing in Faith” classes online at no cost. Classes meet for 3 hours each week on Tuesday evenings. Course offerings include: Christianity in a Lutheran Key, Old Testament, New Testament, Lutheran Creeds & Confessions, Living as a Christian in the World, and Worship Matters. These classes have a Lutheran emphasis, but we welcome fellows from other Christian traditions as well.
